| The Bicycle Team is the newest unit of the Police
Department. It was established in September of 1999 to give the Department
the ability to patrol area schools, city parks and businesses with a
community style of policing. The unit also assists with traffic and crowd
control for special events such as parades and races, the Bellaire
Trolley Run, and the Bellaire Fall Fever Fun Run. The unit currently
consist of 14 officers who perform these duties along with their normal
assignments. |
